Midpoint Reflection
My internship has been different from what I expected. I thought that it would be a hard job because I was nervous about working with homeless people. Would those people hurt me or would they be rude to me? Now I feel happy and enjoy helping my clients.
My internship workplace environment is both similar and different to my school. The similarity is that both at my school and at my internship workplace people are friendly and respect each other. The difference is that sometimes some of the customers don't show us respect and our school when parents come they are always respectful.
Some new skills that I learned I can apply to other job are communication and language skills because I have to ask questions and explain information to my clients.
My relationship with my mentor is friendly because I feel comfortable to ask her about everything.I also friendly with my co-workers so I have a good relationship with everyone in my site.
As the result of interacting with professional adults I feel more confident to ask questions and share ideas.
MY English improved since beginning internship by talking to my co-workers and the clients. Sometimes they don't understand me because of my accent and I speak too fast so I learned to repeat to make myself clear. And my co-worker also helps me with my pronunciation.
It's hard to do my homework on time because the schedule is too short so sometimes I do some on the train while I am going to my internship.
One thing I want to work on in the next six weeks is to make sure I finish all my hours. I also want to do my homework on time.

Four weeks into Internship
My Internship site is Bed-Stuy Compaign Against Hunger (BSCAH) and I work there as a food distributor. BSCAH provides food for homeless people and people who need help because they are unemployed.
Three tasks that I do regularly are:
.Interface with clients - Sometimes when a client comes for the first time they don't understand how the program works so I explain to them how the program works.
.Food distribution - Give them food
.Sort the food- the food is organized in different categories and I sort the food for each client. Each client gets a packet of rice, bread, juice, beans, meat, vegetable, cereals, and milk sometimes they give them extra things. The amount that I can give them depends on the card they have.
My mentor's name is Tamara. She is nice but strict. She seems to be a strong leader and good at managing people.
My Internship is located at Fulton street in Bedford Stuyvesant,Brooklyn. I leave the school at 11:45 each day and arrive at 1:00. It takes one hour and 15 minutes to get there.I work four days a week, Monday to Thursday. On Mondays and Wednesdays they close at three. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they close at six. I do not stay until six all the time because sometimes I have to go to Imentor events or somewhere else. The supervisor who signed my time cards before was Tamara or Sam but now they say that I can sign it by myself because they trust me.

MY first two week at Internship(Feb.22-March4)
Bed-Stuy Compaign Against Hunger(BSCAH) is the name of my site.It is about helping homeless people who need help by giving them food. My first day at Internship was a little confusing because I didn't know what to do and I saw a lot of food. Then I ask one of people who was already working there to help me.They explained to me and they showed me how I can help the clients. The homeless people receive a card and on the card I can see how much food I have to give them for one person or more. Some of clients are nice and some are not. When I am trying to help them some say things like they "don't need no help this is America" and that they can do everything by themselves or that they have two eyes and they know how to read. It is not true they don't even know what to do when they get in the front. They people at the front often send them back to me.
